Ready or Not...It's Time to Launch!

The launch! What an exhilarating feeling. A mixture of terror and excitement wrapped into one. Have you ever put yourself out there in such a way, you thought you might faint? I know the feeling. I set some lofty goals for myself back in late July:

  1. I would launch my blog on my 30th birthday, November 1st.
  2. I would have a party on October 25th to announce this to my friends.
  3. I would have my first greeting card line on display for sale at the party.

The day has arrived and although I have only had short periods of rest in the last 2 weeks, I'm about to cross the final goal (#1) off the list.  Last night, I enjoyed great conversation and a cozy night-in with my girlfriends for Halloween, then pulled an all-nighter to finish the website build, took a short cat nap this morning, now I am finally putting the finishing touches on the site before I flip the switch and release it to the world.

Sharing something this close to my heart certainly evokes the same feelings you experience when sitting on a commercial jet preparing for take off. I'm excited about the adventure I'm about to embark on, but the feeling of uncertainty has made its presence known. I'm taking deep breaths, my body is a bit tense, and I'm gripping the arms of my desk chair. I can feel the jet engine rumbling and the plane is starting to pick-up speed. Ready or not...it's about to take off! I'll only start to relax when it is fully in the air and the turbulence has subsided.

The launch party was a bit like a wonderful send off from dear friends and family before departing on a life changing adventure. I couldn't be more grateful for the people who showed up, who were there in spirit, for the love they shared, and the support I feel. I am stepping into a new decade with a renewed sense of purpose and excitement, and I have never felt so good!

Today, I plan to reflect on those lofty goals and use the time in the air to think about the trajectory of the flight.

With love, P
